Supported by City of Newcastle, Little Festival will take over the metropolis of Newcastle’s CBD with 50 artists installing a mix of temporary and permanent small scale outdoor artworks.

Visitors will be invited to explore the hidden corners, alternative narratives and sprinklings of whimsy through the lenses of Little Festival. Think miniatures, small sculptures, stencils, paste ups, yarn bombs, repurposed found objects and murals tucked away in city laneways and corners.

These unplanned, organic spaces are hotbeds for reactivity, playful arenas in which to explore an urban world less contested and discover a diaspora of creativity, artworks that exist as a living part of the community.

Get hands on and join a workshop to learn the craft of small scale, miniatures and repurposed art. Hear internationally renowned miniature street artist Tinky talk about her creative process, enter a strange dazzling structure in Civic Park that has been transformed by artist Jen Denzin, watch Indo make the giant ‘crateman’ out of milk creates at Kuwumi Place, or just step back and watch the fascinating live art installations along the city block between Union and Steel / Hunter and King Street.
