Join HUDSON STREET HUM to kick-off the New Annual Studio Art Trail – showcasing Newcastle’s emerging arts precinct. Hudson Street Hum is a dedicated workshop space for our local artists and makers to run workshops, direct to the public, sharing their skills and passion in all things creative. To celebrate the event we will be creating a giant community artwork curated by artist Kiasmin. Working together young, old, families and everything in between, your individual piece will form part of a collaborative artwork celebrating Newcastle’s creative richness! The collaborative workshop is an, all ages, free, event with all materials supplied.
Session 1: 1.00pm-2.00pm workshop - SOLD OUT
Session 2: 2.00pm-3.00pm workshop - SOLD OUT

Make your way to NEWCASTLE ART SPACE any time between 1 and 5pm for The Big Clay Out!, an afternoon of muddy fun on the Styx Creek ‘Riviera' lawn (weather permitting) and Newcastle Art Space, both at 91 Chinchen St, Tighes Hill.

Local ceramics star Kara Wood will demonstrate and inspire Heads Up a community collaboration in clay. Visitors will be invited to make their own clay selfie portrait head to form part of a giant installation, set to take over the main wall of the freshly renovated Newcastle Art Space Gallery (NAS Gallery). This is a free event, please book in advance to avoid queues.

NAS Gallery will be showing I’m from Earth, a curated exhibition of work by the art space studio artists, responding to ideas about clay and its sensuality: as earth, as a makers’ medium and a means of expression. Artworks will be available for sale.

Lovers of handmade things will enjoy a Little Artisan Market, popping up for one day only, featuring collectable pieces by some of the Hunter’s most talented ceramic artists, along with unique jewellery, textiles, prints, original artworks and more.

The Big Clay Out is a free event for all ages and abilities. Visit @newcastleartspace on social media for more information and bookings.

THE CREATOR INCUBATOR will host the closing event of the New Annual Artist Studio Trail. From 5.00pm wander the extensive collection of artists and makers studios. Purchase directly from the artists or from The Incubator Shop, observe demonstrations by a collection of Newcastle’s finest artists then kick back with a refreshment and enjoy the soulful sounds of Georgie Jones Music.
