More than 40 funded live music gigs and performances will be delivered across 15 venues to enhance the whole-of-city atmosphere during New Annual's 10-day festival this month. 
 
City of Newcastle (CN) invited venues to apply for a live performance grant to host live music, comedy or other performances as part of the latest round of the popular Locally Made and Played program, with all funding going directly to the artists.

The Diver brothers Adam and Paul have made their mark on the local music scene with their unique format - a duo.... with each member handling drums (no hands!) at the same time as playing bass and acoustic guitar.

Lachlan Edwards is a young energetic singer-songwriter from Newcastle NSW playing folk indie acoustic style tunes. He first picked up a guitar in 2016 and in May 2018 Lachlan’s song ‘Little Things’ earned him the #1 spot on Triple J’s Unearthed Roots chart and airplay on Triple J followed.

‘These Days’ held the #12 spot at the same time and his songs ‘Once More’, 'With Me’, ‘Little Things’, ‘Grow’ & ‘Little Too Late’ have all received airplay on Unearthed Radio and Triple J and his music have a combined 350K plus streams. ‘Once More’ has had over 130k streams and counting on Spotify.
